Shield Supports Community Centre With Safe Access For Renovations

Safe Scaffold Access Allows Renovation To Continue At Hartcliffe Community Centre

Shield’s Scaffolding division has been providing support to the Hartcliffe Community Centre and Social Club in Bristol.  The Bristol City Council-owned centre provides an important role to local residents and members of the Hartcliffe area, with great spaces for functions and events, as well as being a safe place for socialising and getting together.

The committee-run centre has been gradually renovating its rooms to bring them up to date, both in terms of use and from an environmental angle.  Shield has been able to provide safe access to the ceiling voids so that new cabling and utilities could be run through to the improved bar and cellar.

Jamie Angell, Managing Director of Shield Scaffolding Services, commented, “When we heard that the team at Hartcliffe Community Centre were struggling to provide safe and affordable access to get the works completed, we immediately volunteered our services.  It’s clear to see what the centre means to its members and those from the wider community, and the chance to help reflected perfectly the support that we can provide via our Social Vale initiative.”

Since our inception, Shield Services Group has always supported good causes and those in need of assistance.  Helping the disadvantaged is a core part of our values and reflects the family way in which we operate.  Since 2021 we have been measuring all of our Social Value activities to demonstrate the positive impact that we have across our various office and project locations.
