Shield Supports Making Mental Health and Wellbeing For All A Global Priority
October 10th, every year, is World Mental Health Day, as recognised by The World Health Organisation. It is a day which Shield Services Group wholeheartedly supports as a part of its overall focus on the health and wellbeing of our employees.
This year’s theme, set by the World Federation for Mental Health, is ‘Make mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority.’
Shield has its own Mental Health First Aider, Joanne Robb, who provided these thoughts.
“As each year goes by, Mental Health becomes more and more of a priority, and this is reflected within Shield. But this year more than ever, it feels like we need to provide further support, and the opportunity to talk, to our people. We know that a lot of the roles across the Group are tough and physical in their nature, but we have to put mental health on the same level as physical health.”
Whilst World Mental Health Day is a chance to talk about mental health, Shield provides the following document, which outlines the support available for all of its employees which can be found here.
Joanne adds, “We have been working on improving further the all-around support available to our employees, and will be rolling out our partnership with the Lighthouse Club, during the coming weeks. We believe that their tailored approach and experience with construction industry professionals will take our offering to the next level.”
