Shield ‘Family’ Shows Support for Ukraine

Charity Day Raises Over £5,500 for Ukraine

Back in June the colleagues from across our Shield Services Group divisions and branch locations came together to show their support for the victims of the conflict in Ukraine. The day was split in two, with a 5-aside tournament taking part in the morning at Imperial Sports Ground Bristol, and then an afternoon family event held at AEK BOCO FC.  With the final count now complete, we are delighted to announce that a grand total of £5,650 has been raised.

All participants in the football tournament contributed some of their wages for the day to play, with the event being won by Team One from Shield’s Scaffold Division, captained by Jamie Angell.

At the afternoon family event, further funds were raised via face-painting and cake stalls, as well as a fantastic raffle and auction.  We would like to thank the following suppliers for donating to the day.

SMH, SHG Systems, Dynamic CCTV, KN Office, Pinnacle, Pearce Brothers, Sword Dynamic Services, Mathias, ADI, HiKVision, Electec,Lavean, PSB, GF Autos, AA Security, Shield Scaffolding, Shield M,E&FS.

Joanne Robb, who led the organising team, commented, “We have been overwhelmed by the commitment shown to the day, from everyone who helped to organise it, to those who took part in the football and those who attended and bid on the wonderful auction prizes.  We can’t thank you all enough.”

Shield’s Chairman, Luke House, commented, “This day has been another fantastic example of how the Shield family comes together to support worthy causes.  What’s going on in Ukraine is terrible, and we hope that this donation will go directly to those who need it the most.”

All of the funds raised have been donated to British-Ukrainian Aid.
