The challenge
The Shield Asbestos Removal Southampton branch was contracted by NFDC-accredited Southern Demolition, to undertake asbestos removal at Units 6 & 7 Chalcroft Business Park. These removal works were necessary to facilitate the planned demolition, leaving just the steel framework, before our client’s re-building of both the industrial units.
project goals
Chalcroft Business Park is a large industrial estate with a wide range of companies trading 24 hours per day.
the result
The project was completed within 10 weeks, with the removal of walls, roofs, windows and doors, leaving just the steel frame. All of the asbestos removal works were carried out under fully controlled conditions by a team of 18 operatives. Over 9,000 man hours were worked, without a single accident or lost time incident reported.
