Due to the continued growth and diversity of Shield Services Group, we are looking for an experienced Bid Writer to join our Business Development department

Based at our Cardiff Office, the successful candidate will manage the drafting and delivery of high-quality tender responses and pre-qualification documentation.

All items listed below and not limited to-

  • Ensuring Pre-Qualification and Supplier Approval Questionnaires for new business opportunities are completed on time and in line with client’s requirements
  • Ensuring Tender submissions for new business opportunities are completed on time and in line with client’s requirement
  • Support and manage the Bid process to ensure the bid documents are of the best calibre possible for submission. This includes tender research, proof reading, tender drafting, as well as document formatting and obtaining/developing pricing documents with all divisions within the company
  • Monitoring of supplier portals identifying potential tender opportunities for the business
  • Attend tender interviews and meetings, as required
  • Providing support to the Business Development function
  • Support and develop and maintain a database of tender answers and data
  • Gain feedback on tenders and questionnaires submitted. Utilise this feedback to show future improvements and development of company bidding returns
  • Where identified, attend courses to ensure continual skill learning to aid quality and improvement standards of bid delivery

Qualifications and experience:

  • Previous bid writing experience essential, preferably within the construction sector
  • Previous bid writing covering Health Safety / Environmental waste / Asbestos / Social Housing / would be very desirable

  • Demonstrate a high level of computer literacy and competence in the use of all Microsoft Office programmes
  • Good communication and written skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
