On the 21st of September Shield completed the Bristol Half Marathon race with no serious casualties. Shield entered 22 people split up into 5 teams into the race to raise money for the St Peter’s Hospice in Bristol, which provides support to local adults who have life-limiting illnesses. Currently Shield has raised £1,415 through the Just Giving website with more donations to be collected from the people who entered the race and their sponsors, so we are hopeful of still hitting our £2,000 target we initially set for ourselves.
Our fastest runners were Will Rundle who completed the race in an impressive 1:50:41, Darren Sheppard with 1:55:54 and a joint 3rd with Amber Thomas and Justin Edwards finishing in 2:05:36.
After the race the Shield team got together to celebrate their achievement and the funds raised for the St Peter’s Hospice at a venue in Bristol. If you have not donated yet there is still time to contribute to our cause, your donations are greatly appreciated, please follow https://www.justgiving.com/TeamShield/ to donate.
