Shield Sponsors Steve Talboys Foundation Charity Golf Day
Charity Golf Day is a Roaring Success With Shields Support
Shield Services Group is proud to support The Steve Talboys Foundation Charity Golf Day, held at The Kendleshire Golf Club. Founded in 2019 after Steve’s untimely death, The Steve Talboys Foundation provides a legacy that continues to promote and develop Steve’s vision and passion by supporting children and young people, who may be held back by their financial situation from pursuing their sporting goals, to experience the life-changing benefits of amateur sport in their local community The charity operates in Surrey, London, Bristol and Gloucestershire.
The day featured 25 teams of mixed ability, all taking part in a ‘Shambles’ event to provide enjoyment and drive support for the Foundation. The Shield team had the honour of leading off the day, and Shield Mechanical, Electrical & Facilities Services Managing Director, Danny Jackson (pictured) took the first drive of the day.
Marcus Bray, Trustee and STFs Event Organiser, commented, “It’s been marvellous to have Shields involvement and support for the day and it has meant so much for Steves family and all of the foundation members. Despite the showers, the day has been a great success, even if Team Shield didn’t quite make it into the Top Three. Better luck next year!! I know that Steve would have been so proud to see so many people out on the course, raising money for such a great cause.”
Shield’s Chairman, Luke House, commented, “The Talboys and House families have been friends for many years, and when I was approached to support the day, I could only say yes. Relationships aside, The Steve Talboys Foundation and Shield share many of the same values and it is fantastic to see Steve’s legacy have a continued impact on the lives of the young, who would otherwise struggle to access the wonderful benefits that sport brings. Long may this continue. Congratulations to everyone who took part in the day and contributed to such an amazing cause.”
