Shield Services Group Supports World Mental Health Day 2023

Shield Continues to Support Talking About Mental Health and Wellbeing For All

October 10th, every year, is World Mental Health Day, as recognised by The World Health Organisation. It is a day which Shield Services Group wholeheartedly supports as a part of its overall focus on the health and wellbeing of our employees.  It is a day to talk about mental health and show everyone that mental health matters. It’s also a day to let people know that it’s okay to ask for help, no matter what you’re going through.

Shield’s own Mental Health First Aider, Joanne Robb, shared these thoughts.

“We have seen how challenging the past year has been, with Mental Health becoming an increasing priority, and this has been reflected across Shield Services Group. This year we have continued to provide further support and the opportunity for our people to talk.  We know that a lot of the roles across the Group are tough and physical in their nature, and we are putting mental health on the same level as physical health. As a simple step of visible support for World Mental Health Day, we will be looking to spread some positivity and support by wearing green.  It’s a simple but powerful way to show that we care about mental well-being.”

Whilst World Mental Health Day is a chance to talk about mental health, Shield provides the following document, which outlines the support available for all of its employees which can be found here.

Joanne adds, “Over the past 12 months we have rolled out in person to all of our colleagues our partnership with the Lighthouse Club.  We believe that their tailored approach and experience with construction industry professionals take our support offering to the next level.”
