Shield Founder Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Phillip House Receives a Lifetime Achievement Award at The Great British Business & Community Awards 2023

We are delighted to announce that the Founder of Shield Services Group, Phillip House, has won a Lifetime Achievement award from the judging panel of the Great British Business & Community Awards.

Having been nominated for this personal award, alongside Shield’s Employer of the Year nomination and our Chairman, Luke House‘s nominations in the Entrepreneur and Business Leader of the Year categories, Phil, was presented with his award at a sparkling evening on Friday 21st April at the Hilton Hotel in Reading.

When asked about his award, Phil commented, “This is a most unexpected but deeply appreciated award which I am delighted to have been able to accept in front of my wife Sue, who has been my rock for so many years, our son Luke and key members of his leadership team who are driving this fantastic business forward to even greater heights.  It’s humbling to be acknowledged in this way, but I have to say that it is the efforts of all of the Shield family who have helped to drive our Group forward over the years.  I have been privileged to have worked with some wonderful people, many of whom I am now able to call friends. I wish everyone all the very best for the future and cannot wait to meet up with many of them, this June, at our annual ‘Shieldfest’ charity event in aid of Prader-Willi Syndrome Association UK.  As I said in my acceptance speech, business success is wonderful, but my real lifetime achievement is my family, our children and their grandchildren.”

Our Group Chairman and Phil’s son, Luke House, commented, “I’m overjoyed for Dad, as he has been an inspiration for me personally and to so many of our colleagues who have worked for Shield over the years.  The whole family ethos of our Group and the way that we conduct our business is down to Dad and the values that he has promoted throughout his career, and they stand as a legacy to which we will continue to work.”
