Shield Employee Awards For October

In a very strong month for nominations for both awards, Jason James and Nicola Collins won our employee awards for October, having been nominated by their colleagues.

Jason was nominated by our Asbestos Technical Director, Dean Humphreys, who had this to say, “I’d like to nominate Jason James for employee of the month. The reason is simple, Jason’s work ethic. He works tirelessly to move the branch forward and more times than I can count he is in the office at 6 am to get a head start on the day. He has contributed large-scale projects to other offices to keep the work within the business. Over the past year, we have had a challenging project running, which has taken considerable time and resources to manage. Jason has been invaluable to the project and has met the client’s expectations throughout the process. Due to the efforts of Jason and his team, the Southampton office is looking at a strong pipeline of work for the future.”

Shield’s Fire & Security Division nominated Nicola for her handling of an incident at a site, Ross Walker, Shield Fire & Security’s MD commented, “We would like to nominate Nicola as Health and Safety Champion. Her exemplary handling of an unexpected incident recently demonstrated the SHEQ team’s commitment to ensuring a safe and secure working environment for all of my team. Nicola displayed a highly professional approach, promptly addressing all requirements with our client and acting swiftly to resolve the situation. Her immediate response and efficient handling of the incident minimised its impact and helped prevent any further harm or potential hazards. Furthermore, Nicola did not stop at resolving the immediate issue. She took proactive measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. By implementing new processes and procedures, she has demonstrated her dedication to continuous improvement in health and safety standards within our division. Her attention to detail and commitment to ensuring a safe working environment for all employees is commendable and deserving of recognition.”
