Monthly Health And Safety Award Named in Honour of Ian Story
At the end of September 2023, Shield Services Group was rocked by the sudden news that our great colleague, Ian Story, had passed away. Ian was a mainstay of our Shield Asbestos Services branch in Warrington and a significant, positive influence on all of the team.
Paul Lillis, Managing Director of Shield Asbestos Services, commented, “The news of Ian’s unexpected passing rocked the whole of our Group, as he was a rock to many who will be sorely missed. To be taken from us at just 50 years of age is just terrible. Rest in Peace, Ian.“
Shield Services Group Chairman, Luke House, reflected, “The news of Ian’s passing was terribly sad news. Ian was a true gentleman who was taken far too soon and will be sorely missed. We wanted to find a way of honouring Ian so that his contributions would not be forgotten, and naming our monthly Health & safety award seemed appropriate. Every month, all of our colleagues will be reminded of Ian as we announce the latest winner of the Ian Story Health & Safety Champion Of The Month Award.”
It seems appropriate that our winner for September 2023 is Ian Story himself.
