project brief

As part of a regeneration project in former mining area in Cornwall, Heartlands secured a £22 million grant from the Big Lottery Fund’s Living Landmarks programme and was part-funded by Cornwall Council. Shield secured the contract to provide thermal insulation for the plant room including the insulation of two buffer vessels. It was an honour for us to be a part of the redevelopment which will provide growth to the economy for years to come.

The application of thermal insulation to the plant room pipework required a mineral wool insulation base layer finished with an Isogenopak cladding, which was secured using nylon rivets and colour-coded using ID banding. The buffer vessels were insulated using 50mm foiled mineral wool crimpwrap which was over-clad with Stucco Aluminium, secured using aluminium pop rivets.
