project brief

Shield’s Asbestos Removal team in Bristol recently undertook some works in a domestic property for a private client. The scope of works included the removal of pipe insulation beneath floor boards within several rooms to the property and the removal of AIB (Asbestos Insulation Board) panel to the fireplace. The work was carried out over 10 days and the property was occupied throughout the works. As such, our teams had to ensure the works were carried out with minimal disruption to the residents. To further put the residents at ease, our Contracts Manager carried out several site visits to ensure the works were correctly planned, and time was spent to run the homeowners through the works and ensure they were comfortable with our methods. A site audit was also carried out by the Contracts Manager, with regular correspondence with the homeowners.

A wrap and cut technique was used to remove the asbestos and to safeguard the homeowners during the works, all routes were sign-posted with the floor coverings protected with correx and polythene and CCTV was used to allow adequate inspection of the enclosure.

The client was fully satisfied with the works being completed on time and on budget.
