In 2012 Shield became the sole asbestos removal contractor for Bromford Group (Bromford Living & Fosseway Housing Association).

Bromford Group own and manage nearly 27,000 homes across central England, ranging from Staffordshire in the North to Bristol in the South. The works include the removal of both licensed and non-licensed asbestos containing materials and waste collections for planned and responsive works.

This contract is managed centrally through a Key Account Manager, utilising both our Bristol and Birmingham Branches to deliver the works.

Following further investigations at the pre-planning stage, circa 1,800m2 of Asbestos Insulating Board (AIB) panels were also identified, in the rear frame housing of the façade, forming part of the original fabric of the building. This was also included as a part of Shield’s scope of removal.

The project ran from July 2021 through to December 2023.
