Ladies Walking Football Team Receives ‘Backing’ From Shield’s Cardiff Branch
Evans & Williams Ladies Walking Football Team Look Great In New Kit
Funded in 1960, Evans & Williams FC are an amateur football club providing access to football and fitness in Llanelli. Nicknamed the ‘Albies’, the club is a Proud FAW Huddle Provider and Swans Community Trust Walking Football Partner.
The ‘Albies’ are strongly involved with providing walking football with both men’s and women’s sides all benefitting from the positive effects on mental health and fitness. Shield Asbestos Services’ Cardiff branch recently supported the ladies’ side by providing them with £500 to help with essential kit and equipment.
Barry Lewis, Our Operations Director for Wales, commented, “It’s great to be involved with a local community group that provides access to sport and fitness for all. The recent surge in popularity of walking football is providing physical and mental health benefits to an increased number of people, who without it, would not get the chance to get outside, exercise and be with others.”
