IFC Certification For Shield Fire & Security

Shield’s Fire & Security Division Achieves IFC Certification For Passive Fire Protection

Shield Fire & Security is now IFC Certified, allowing us to provide solutions for service penetration and linear gap seals for Passive Fire Protection requirements.

A Stronger Product & Service Offering

We can now install Passive Fire Protection components and systems in buildings and structures, which will slow or impede the spread of the effects of fire or smoke through service penetrations and seals.

We will also be expanding our offering in the near future to cover the following services:

  • The installation and maintenance of wooden fire doors
  • Fire Barriers
  • Structural Fire Encasements
  • Fire-rated partition walls and ceilings.

We can also provide our clients with clear and concise information for both operation and maintenance. By adopting the ‘Golden Thread’ ethos, we can support from the initial concept through to long-term preventative maintenance plans. We will work with you to create tailored solutions that are bespoke to your requirements.

What was involved?

To achieve the certification, we have developed and implemented new systems that enable us to record, monitor, control and maintain all stock and deliveries for each project, ensuring the products are of the highest quality. This ensures that each installation is fully compliant and completed to the high standards associated with the IFC accreditation, providing each client with reassurance and peace of mind.

Providing clients with a differentiated service offering

Shield Fire & Security always looks to provide our clients with added value and unmatched levels of assurance. Our IFC certification further enhances this approach and is proof of our project delivery to the highest standards.

A strengthened team

Shield Fire & Security has strengthed its team to support this new service offering, with the appointment of Robert Soper as our Passive Fire Protection Manager. Robert has over 30 years of experience within the ever-evolving passive fire protection industry, using his dedication and desire for continual learning and development to stay ahead of the curve. Rob will be the driving force behind Passive Fire Protection and the key contact for clients and prospects to engage with directly.

Robert Soper, commented, “Passive fire protection plays a critical role in safeguarding lives, protecting property, and limiting the destructive impact of fires. Its inclusion in building design and construction is crucial to maintaining a safe environment for occupants and reducing the potential for significant loss in the case of a fire incident. The achievement of the IFC certification for Shield is a huge step forward and I cannot wait to work with our divisional MD, Ross Walker, in driving the business forward.”
