Helping Those Who Help The Vulnerable

PAT Testing Vital Equipment For Fareshare South West

As a part of our continued support, Adam Gillard from our Equipment Servicing & Testing team has been helping FareShare South West in Plymouth to keep their office equipment compliant and up-to-date with their PAT testing.

FareShare is the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 18 independent organisations. Together, they take good quality surplus food from right across the food industry and get it to nearly 8,500 frontline charities and community groups. The food redistributed is nutritious and good to eat. It reaches charities across the UK, including school breakfast clubs, older people’s lunch clubs, homeless shelters, and community cafes. Every week FareShare provides enough food to create almost a million meals for vulnerable people.

Reflecting on the importance of our support of good causes such as FareShare South West, Megan Miotla from Shield’s testing & Maintenance team, commented, “Supporting great charitable initiatives such as FareShare is a real positive for the team, as it provides us with the opportunity to assist in the support of the vulnerable and those in need.  FareShare has always made a significant impact across the country, and their support is needed now more than ever. We will continue to help support their South West offices whenever we can.”

Since our inception, Shield Services Group has always supported good causes and those in need of assistance.  Helping the disadvantaged is a core part of our values and reflects the family way in which we operate.  Since 2021 we have been measuring all of our Social Value activities to demonstrate the positive impact that we have across our various office and project locations.
