February’s Employee Of The Month and Ian Story Health & Safety Champion Awards Announced
Employee Of The Month and Ian Story Health & Safety Champion Awards Revealed
Another strong month for nominations for both of our key employee awards, with thirteen nominations across our colleagues.
We are delighted to announce that our Fleet Manager, Darren Saville (top left), and Louis Williams (middle left), Mobile Building Fabric Engineer shared the Employee Of The Month Award. Joshua Nelson, our Scaffolding Supervisor (bottom left), has claimed the Ian Story Health & Safety Champion award.
Darren was nominated by both the HR Team and our Scaffolding Division, who focussed on his fantastic attitude, level of assistance and happy demeanour. The Scaffolding team had this to say, “On behalf of all of us in the scaffolding team, we would like to nominate Darren Saville as employee of the month. Since joining, Darren has been incredibly helpful to us, impressing us with his kindness and approachable nature. No issue is ever too much to ask of him and his likeable nature has been well received by our scaffolders and HGV Drivers who have learnt a lot from him. “
Louis was nominated by our Contracts Manager, Jon Gaskarth, who commented, “Once again I would like to nominate Louis Williams for employee of the month. Not only does he go above and beyond what is asked of him, every single day, but he has also applied extra effort to Job Cards and providing information, which is a massive feat, given that he is dyslexic. Additionally, he recently travelled to London to undertake a job that others had struggled with, and absolutely smashed it, completing it within two days, instead of the scheduled four, working until 10.30 pm on a Friday. He is an absolute credit to the company and received a great deal of thanks from the customer.“
Anthony Houghton acknowledged Josh’s efforts, “I’d like to nominate Josh Nelson for Health and Safety Champion. He is supervising a new project at the Old BRI in the centre of Bristol, and aside from working with great tenacity and professionalism, as Josh always does, this project is demanding in ensuring public safety. He is patiently managing various pavement closures in an area with high footfall which has proven difficult, especially during rush hour. With both the dilapidated building and heightened safety expectations on this high-profile job, Josh has once again proven that he is the right man for the job.“
Luke House, Shield Services Group Chairman, stated, “Congratulations and thanks to all the nominees. We have two Employee of the Month winners in Darren Saville and Louis Williams. Congratulations guys, excellent nominations and thanks for your continued hard work. Again, congratulations to our February nominees, but the winner is Josh Nelson for the outstanding commitment to Health and Safety shown on a very complex project. Congratulations on winning the Ian Story Health and Safety Champion of the Month and keep up the good work!“
