Salen Ship Management, Caledonian Sky
Marine Insulation
Overview
Shield Marine carried out insulation work on the cruise ship Caledonian Sky, which was booked to take passengers to the 2012 Olympics in London.
The works were carried out at Canary Wharf in London while the ship was docked for the 2012 London Olympics, after which it sailed to its next location in Iceland.
Following detailed planning and design by Shield Marine staff it was decided that on this project Promat Insulation was to be used, due to the class requirements. Promat was chosen as it is only 10mm thick, carries a standard A30 class and fitted into the difficult access spaces on the ship.
