Midas Construction, Heartlands
Steam & Condensate Pipework
Overview
As part of a regeneration project in former mining area in Cornwall, Heartlands secured a £22 million grant from the Big Lottery Fund’s Living Landmarks programme and was part-funded by Cornwall Council.
Shield secured the contract to provide thermal insulation for the plant room including the insulation of two buffer vessels. It was an honour for us to be a part of the redevelopment which will provide growth to the economy for years to come.
The application of thermal insulation to the plant room pipework required a mineral wool insulation base layer finished with an Isogenopak cladding, which was secured using nylon rivets and colour-coded using ID banding. The buffer vessels were insulated using 50mm foiled mineral wool crimpwrap which was over-clad with Stucco Aluminium, secured using aluminium pop rivets.
We strive for innovation and were one of the first companies to implement the colour-coded aluminium end-capping system, demonstrated on the Heartlands project.
We have worked closely with EIC since 2004 and have established a trusted working relationship in all sectors including NHS, retail, local authorities and commercial projects. This trust has been earned through a continuous track record of professionalism and quality.
