Shield’s Asbestos Division Will Provide Services to LHC Procurement Group’s (LHC) Asset Safety and Compliance (ASC1) framework

This £135m framework is designed to help the public sector meet its building life, safety and maintenance responsibilities. LHC is a not-for-profit public sector construction framework provider, with ASC1 being designed to offer a full suite of asset safety and compliance support to help the public sector meet the required government guidelines and legal responsibilities. Its introduction follows the Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023, which is now law and requires affordable housing providers to appoint a health and safety lead to monitor compliance and places further responsibilities on them to address the needs of tenants. Shield Asbestos Services will be supporting each of the tendered business units, including the Welsh Procurement Alliance (WPA), Consortium Procurement Construction (CPC), South West Procurement Alliance (SWPA) and London & South East (LHC) via this framework.

Developed in direct response to discussions with housing associations, local authorities, schools and healthcare organisations, ASC1 offers a diverse range of expertise including property protection and associated services; asbestos management; water testing, treatment, and management; heating, and air conditioning-related services; and electrical testing and relevant support. The ASC1 framework, which runs until 3rd September 2027, is worth up to £100 million in England, £20 million in Scotland and £15 million in Wales’.
